Blog Posts

Thanks for your interest in contributing to wingtipwomen.com. While the primary goal of this website is to establish our own brand of high-quality, American-made classic shoes  for women (or convince an existing brand to produce these styles for us), there are no rules saying we can’t have some fun, and help each other out, along the way. That’s why a secondary goal is to build a community that shares their thoughts on life, work, beauty and fashion. If these seem like odd juxtapositions, well, think about how much appearance dictates how we are perceived at work. There’s a reason that “dress for the job you want” has become a cliché.

Posts need to be original, useful, engaging, and interesting to our readers. Wit, sarcasm and cheekiness are welcome, but rants, whining and meanness are tiresome. Start with a central theme or thought and move outward from there. If I can’t find point in your post (the use of the “editorial we” here is appropriate, but feels pretentious because there’s only one of me), I won’t post it.

If there’s a website, product or service that you personally have used and that enhanced your life in some way, feel free to link to it. A caveat: If the sole purpose of your post is obviously to promote your own website, product, or service, your post will be rejected.

All guest posters may include a brief author bio, which will be included in the post. Please include a headshot.

I’ll read everything I am sent. If I think it’s a good fit for an audience of professional women, and it’s interesting to me, I’ll post it. I work full time, so it might take a few days. However, I’ll let you know when it has been posted. I do edit for grammar, spelling and punctuation.

If your submission is posted, you will be identified by first name, last initial, city, state, and country, unless otherwise requested.

Shoe Reviews

Reviews of shoes that are currently available are particularly helpful. You don’t have to own the shoe to review it, but you do need to have tried it on. If you have an older pair of shoes that you have a story about, consider a blog post instead (guidelines above).

A clear photo of the shoe is a must. A photo of yourself is optional. But nice.
